What you'll find in the collection of storage containers with lids
Do you also have a drawer or cupboard where flour, pasta, grains, and rice are stored in half-open bags that tip over when you open the door? You're not alone. Bags fill unevenly, rarely seal tightly, and you quickly lose track of how much is actually left.
Storage containers with lids solve precisely that. In this collection, you'll find containers in various sizes, allowing you to match the container to the item instead of cramming a small portion into an overly large container. The smallest ones hold 0.35 litres and are suitable for items you use a little of at a time, while the largest, up to 4.4 litres, can hold a whole bag of flour or sugar. The lid keeps contents in place, keeps out moisture and pests, and makes it easy to stack the containers on top of each other.
The selection ranges from practical plastic containers for dry goods, to containers with wooden lids for a warmer, more natural feel on the shelf, to a square glass food storage box with a bamboo lid. If you want to see the entire family of containers together, you can check out the collection of storage containers.
Choose the size based on what you're storing
The most important decision you'll make is the size. If you choose incorrectly, you'll end up with half-empty containers that waste space, or small containers that overflow when you pour in the bag's contents.
The very small ones, at 0.35 and 0.8 litres, are suitable for items you use in small quantities: baking powder, chia seeds, dried yeast, leftover nuts. The medium sizes, around 1.6 and 1.65 litres, are ideal for grains, lentils, rice, and pasta in typical household portions. And the large ones, at 2.25 and 3.5 litres, accommodate classic high-consumption items like flour, sugar, and rolled oats, where an entire bag needs to fit.
A good tip is to measure your actual bags before ordering. A standard two-kilo bag of wheat flour takes up more space than you might think, so it's better to have a container that's too large than too small if you want to pour in the entire bag at once. If you have very different items, it often makes the most sense to mix sizes, so each container is adapted to its contents.
Containers with wooden lids for open shelves
Not all storage is hidden behind a cupboard door. If you have open shelves in the kitchen, or if the containers are on display on the counter, their appearance matters.
For this purpose, we have storage containers with wooden lids in two sizes: 0.84 and 4.4 litres. The container itself allows you to see the contents, while the wooden lid provides a calm, natural look that suits most kitchens. Wood is one of the materials that feng shui principles highlight as peace-inducing, which is why containers with wooden lids work well when storage needs to be visually appealing and not just hidden away.
If several of them are placed side by side, you also get a uniform look that makes a shelf clear rather than cluttered. This isn't just for appearances, but for the overview and peace of mind you gain every time you open the cupboard.
Glass or plastic: what suits your needs?
The collection includes both plastic containers and a glass food storage box, and the choice depends on what you need them for.
Plastic containers are lightweight, robust, and easy to handle in daily use. They are well-suited for dry goods in cupboards and drawers, where you often take them out and put them back. The 800 ml glass box with a square shape and bamboo lid, on the other hand, is ideal for leftovers, packed lunches, and meal prep, where you want to clearly see the contents and let food go directly from the fridge to the table. Glass also does not absorb odours or colours from, for example, tomato sauce in the same way that plastic can.
If you need containers for meal prep and leftovers in the fridge and freezer, you can also take a look at the collection of plastic containers and read more about how to get organized with food storage with lids.
Are the containers dishwasher, microwave, and freezer safe?
This is one of the questions that most often determines a purchase, and the answer depends on the material. Always check the labeling on each container before putting it in the dishwasher, microwave, or freezer, as the limits vary from product to product.
As a general rule, glass is the most versatile when it comes to heat and cooling, while plastic is most suitable for dry storage and refrigeration. If you want to be absolutely sure what a specific container can withstand, you will find the information on the individual product. If you have questions about a particular container, we are always ready to help.
How to create a consistent system in your cabinet
A single container makes a small difference. A system makes all the difference. You don't have to overhaul your entire kitchen at once; you can start with one cabinet.
Step 1: Empty the cabinet, and throw out old items and empty bags. Step 2: Wipe down the shelves while they are empty anyway. Step 3: Group your items, for example, baking ingredients, grains, and pasta, and give each group its containers in appropriate sizes. Step 4: Place what you use most often at the front, and stack the others behind or on top.
A final step that ties the system together is to label them. With labels, you can quickly see what's in each container without opening the lid, and it becomes easy to maintain the system over time. If you want to expand to more types of storage, you can look at storage jars for the rest of your dry goods. We promise it's all worth it once the system is established.
